Grammar of Us

My kiss is solid
each night
I drop it on the counter
with a clunk

After you’ve gone
I pick it up
feel its edges with
my fingertips
its intention to be
a hard, square thing

Your kiss flies out
of your mouth
as you pass – fluff
I watch to see where it lands
It never does

Light & lost in time
as a dandelion
your kiss, all movement
towards & away

My kiss is a noun
Yours is a verb
