Interesting – from an Australian point of view – to come across this blog, <\/span>Emerging Writers Network<\/a>, by Dan Wickett in the US, given that one of the panellists is Christina Thompson, a former editor of <\/span>Meanjin<\/em>, and editor these days of <\/span>Harvard Review<\/em>.<\/span><\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n

I was a journal editor in Australia before I became editor of Harvard Review<\/em>, so it would be fair to say that this is the part of the publishing world that I know best. It’s a small pond, to be sure, but I’m fond of it.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The E-panel features very general questions about magazine editing, ie … “Is it safe to say you do this [edit] out of love?” … [THOMPSON: I took the vow of poverty a long time ago.
