Silent Hands by Therese Corfiatis<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

gums form a swaying fabric \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

pale grey, silvery olive leaves<\/span><\/p>\n

meld and merge<\/span><\/p>\n

into the sky\u2019s blue loom<\/span><\/p>\n

clouds unwind their threads \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

long milky fingers<\/span><\/p>\n

weave the wind\u2019s rhythms<\/span><\/p>\n

with silent hands<\/span><\/p>\n

Half a moon by Pam Schindler<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Come and stay,<\/span><\/p>\n

there\u2019ll be half a moon by Sunday,<\/span><\/p>\n

a gleaming bowlful of dark<\/span><\/p>\n

enough to feed<\/span><\/p>\n

the lover in me, the elusive<\/span><\/p>\n

heart in you \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n

all the lost chances,<\/span><\/p>\n

they are here still,<\/span><\/p>\n

turning in sleep<\/span><\/p>\n

in the dark bowl<\/span><\/p>\n

the new moon comes carrying<\/span><\/p>\n

like a gift.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sonnet for lost lasts by Susan Austin<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

His class lines up in pairs at the berry farm.<\/span>
\nHis free hand is held out for me to find.<\/span>
\nI\u2019m surprised to feel his whole hand in my palm:<\/span>
\nhe used to curl his fingers round one of mine.<\/span>
\nAnother little last, like the daytime nap?<\/span>
\nLast time I hold his hand to cross a street,<\/span>
\nlast picture book read snuggled in my lap,<\/span>
\nthe final time I help him brush his teeth.<\/span>
\nWhen will be the last we share a bath?<\/span>
\nNo camera will snap the final trolley ride,<\/span>
\nthe moment plastic cups give way to glass.<\/span>
\nHis fluffy monkey comforter will slide \u2013<\/span>
\nwith the glee he gets from using arms to fart \u2013<\/span>
