Both of those titles suggest to me the notion of exploration.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">How do those two books reflect your theme?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">PETER<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">I think both of those books reflect the idea<\/span> of, or are based around the premise of, trying to write poetry that doesn&#8217;t start from what you know but is working its way towards what you don&#8217;t yet know. So it&#8217;s poetry that&#8217;s deliberately not paraphrasable\u2014not <span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">exactly storytelling, not obviously related to some&nbsp;kind of theme<\/span> that you could spell out in advance. So it has that exploratory quality, the sort of openness to the various things that life might unfold that we don&#8217;t yet know. So multiple dimensions <\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">of reality&#8230;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">DAVID<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Roboto, Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">You&#8217;d be familiar with this<\/span>, there&#8217;s a<\/span> very old conversation in poetry about whether poets\u2014and probably in literature generally\u2014should write about what they know. I remember as a seventeen-year-old wannabe writer I was told not to write anything until I had something to say. I wrongly didn&#8217;t think I had anything to say as a seventeen-year-old and that was possibly the worst advice I&#8217;ve ever been given.
