BACKYARD
Comprised of Adnan Kadric (Vocals / Guitar), Thomas Barlow (Drums), Joe Daly (Bass), and Leon Andrews (Guitar / Vocals), Backyard have a penchant for creating understated tunes about life in Melbourne’s western suburbs and country Victoria. These themes have stemmed from the beauty Adnan found in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs, having found refuge there after fleeing Bosnia with his family in the early 90s.
Tracked by Kieran Daly and Chris Wright (Dirt Farmer, Fountaineer) in a converted farmhouse turned studio in outer Melbourne and mixed at Lone Palm Studios in LA by the busiest man in town, Dan Horne, the bands first recordings are full of contrarily warm and melancholic guitar-pop, sometimes sturdied with 12-string guitar, organ and lapsteel. The record has a bit of a country feel meets DIY thanks primarily to frontman Adnan's tendencies to call for recording sessions before rehearsing any material and the band's love of the classics from Parsons, Van Zandt and Dylan.
'Best View Of Dean Street' is a single from the band's debut EP, launched 10th November 2017.
