SHANE McCAULEY Conversion It is the ghosts tiresome task to haunt - firstly the susceptible, more gradually the cynical, flitting from memory to memory until not a moment seems unwatched over; in the white-heat of the heart such processes are soon complete, the victim continually setting traps for spectres, at last unable to live without these ghosts, these guardians of his transformation, off-spring of succouring guilt, quiet longing for some lasting reclamation.
