at the kiosk

next to the model village

in the gardens

cancer patients meet their families

after treatment or assessment

there are hugs and handshakes

occasional tears

and the laughter of some

who handle things that way

also the odd man on his own

who stands above

the set-in-concrete thatch

of the miniature roofs

silent as a deity
